HER ROYAL HIGHNESS TUNKU AMPUAN BESAR NEGERI SEMBILAN
TUANKU AISHAH ROHANI BINTI ALMARHUM TENGKU BESAR MAHMUD
Her Royal Highness Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan,Tuanku Aishah Rohani binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud was born on 19th June, 1952 (26th Ramadhan 1371 H) in Batu Gajah, Perak. Her Royal Highness Tuanku Aishah Rohani is the third child of Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Seri Utama Raja Tengku Besar Mahmud ibni Almarhum Sultan Zainal Abidin III and To’ Puan Hajjah Zainun binti Hj. Su Mahmud. She received her early education at several institutions, including Sekolah Rendah Sultan Sulaiman, Kuala Terengganu, Sekolah Convent Taiping and Sekolah Convent Bukit Nanas, Kuala Lumpur.Her Royal Highness Tuanku Aishah Rohani is married to Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, whom at that time was the Tunku Besar Seri Menanti, and now being crowned as Duli Yang Maha Mulia Yang Di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan on 25th April 1974. The royal couple is blessed with three princes: Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Besar Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddin (born on 26th April 1977), Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin (born on 6th July 1982) and Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Alif Hussein Saifuddin Al-Amin (born on 3rd September 1984).
Her Royal Highness Tuanku Aishah Rohani was crowned as Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan on 14th April 2009 by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Yang Di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir at Istana Besar Seri Menanti. Her Royal Highness was awarded Darjah Kerabat Negeri Sembilan Yang Amat Dihormati, D.K. (N.S) on 21st April 2009 and Darjah Dato’ Paduka Tuanku Jaafar (D.P.T.J.) in 1996.
Her Royal Highness Tuanku Aishah Rohani also loves children and she had been to the United States to pursue a course on special children, especially in the development of the minds of children, organised by the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential, Pennsylvania. With deep knowledge in this area, Her Royal Highness is able to provide proper care to his youngest son, Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Alif Hussein Saifuddin Al-Amin, as well as offerring advice, guidance and assistance to those in need.
Despite carrying a royal title, Her Royal Highness Tuanku Aishah Rohani does not restrict her movement in her contributions toward the community. She often visits the welfare homes and hospitals, and she is also the Royal Patron of the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur and the Persatuan Kebajikan Isteri-isteri Wakil Rakyat Negeri Sembilan. Her favourite leisure activities are playing golf and reading.
