CHINA, September 4th 2023 – Professor Dr. Mohd Radhi Ibrahim, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), represented the university at the China-ASEAN Education and Cooperation Week (CAECW) and the “Belt & Road Nations” Presidents Forum and Education Exhibition. This event took place from 28 August to 30 August 2023 in Guiyang, China.

The program, themed “Integrative and Innovative Educational Development,” brought together university leaders from various countries, including Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, Australia, Singapore, and many others.

According to Professor Dr. Mohd Radhi, USIM’s participation in this event presents an excellent opportunity to explore cooperation possibilities, particularly with Chinese universities and schools. These collaborations may encompass international student recruitment, educational and research partnerships, student exchange programs, and various other forms of cooperation.

Furthermore, this large-scale program offered a platform for participating universities to showcase their study programs. Over 14 schools and universities were invited to participate in this educational forum and exhibition.

“Participating in a program like this also allows USIM to learn how to enhance the quality of education at our institution and establish USIM as a global reference university by 2025,” he added.

The China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and the People’s Government of Guizhou Province, has evolved into a significant platform for fostering cooperation and cultural exchange between China and ASEAN countries.

CAECW 2023 is dedicated to promoting international exchange and collaboration between China and other nations as part of China’s ‘Going-out and Bringing-in’ education campaign. Additionally, it aims to further the internationalization of universities and nurture international talent to contribute to national and regional economic and social development.
