Project Description
BACKGROUND
Intravenous therapy is the infusion of liquid substances directly into a vein. Intravenous therapy may be used to correct electrolyte imbalances, to deliver medications, for blood transfusion or as fluid replacement to correct, for example, dehydration and also can be used for chemotherapy. Compared with other routes of administration, the intravenous route is the fastest way to deliver fluids and medications throughout the body. It is used profoundly in the field of medicine. However, patients normally feel discomfort while on the therapy. Without maintaining the proper height, the fluid is unable to enter the vein as the emission of the fluid is dependent on gravity. Besides that, the long tangling tube of the intravenous bag also causes discomfort and deter the patient’s mobility.
